Mindful Leadership
I am excited to share some exciting updates with you. First, we have a special guest on campus tonight. My sister, Remington, a.k.a Remi, is a certified therapy dog. Remi will spread love and positivity for our Thomas More University students as we kick off our finals week. See us in Seiler Commons at 6pm for dinner and pettings!
In my personal and professional journey, I have reached a significant milestone. I have completed my first semester with my cohort as a doctoral student in the Doctorate in Educational Leadership program at Northern Kentucky University. Although it was our last weekend of in-person classes, the work is far from over. I have several papers to finish and need time to reflect on my experiences. My classes included Understanding Oppression, Introduction to Doctoral Studies, and Leadership: A Personal Professional Perspective. The courses were diverse in content but interconnected in their themes and how they connect with my passion and work. It was an emotional moment for me as I said goodbye to my classes, and I also understand the importance of reflection and rejuvenation as a leader.
I am incredibly proud of balancing a full-time role, starting a new academic program at Thomas More University, and completing my first semester with my cohort. The cohort has built a foundation and support system throughout this journey, and I am grateful for their presence. I would also like to thank Rusty for organizing our celebration night out and the Rabbit gift exchange!
I am wrapping up my first semester as a Professor of Practice at Thomas More University. I am immensely proud of my students' achievements in just one semester. I designed a new class called Entrepreneurial Mindset, and you can follow their journey on LinkedIn using the hashtag #TMUZCEI. Make sure to read what the students have to say. I am proud of them for all that they have accomplished.
I want to highlight the Zembrodt Center for Entrepreneurship Fellows for their dedication and hard work. Their contributions have helped shape the center's success. This week, I will present to our Board of Trustees, and much of my presentation will focus on their contributions. THANK YOU!
Lastly, I want to thank all of you for following my journey here on Substack. While bittersweet, I have realized the importance of taking a break from writing this weekly newsletter. This is not a goodbye but a decision rooted in my leadership growth. I have learned the significance of prioritizing and achieving work-life balance, as outlined in my Leadership Growth Plan. Please continue following my journey on LinkedIn and Instagram, and I look forward to connecting with you soon.
Thank you once again for your support, and have a wonderful December!
With love,
Future Dr. A
